Summer music festivals in Marbella

Starlite Festival is one of the busiest events during the summer in Marbella. The 45-day event takes place over July and August in the resort and brings a star-studded line-up to the Costa del Sol.
International stars at this year’s event include Sting, Il Divo and the Pet Shop Boys, while the Spanish list of artists runs long with big names such as Serrat, Pablo Alborán, David Bisbal and Luis Fonsi. You can also see some flamenco.
Just a short distance from Marbella lies the village of Ojén, famous for its annual Ojeando Festival. Held over two days from 13 to 14 July, Ojeando brings together established talents on the music scene with up-and-coming stars.

Art events in Marbella

As well as lots of great live music, summer in Marbella also means art. The resort’s excellent Museum of Engraving hosts two exhibitions by local artists during its “12 months, 12 artists” series.
The July exhibition hosts work by local resident Pedro Molina with pictures showing his influence from Oriental art and his great skill as a drawer. And in August, it’s the turn of local Rosario Olarte who draws on poetry and real-life experiences in her expressionist work.

H2 Sporting events in Marbella
The summer in Marbella comes with two big sporting highlights. The resort sees the start of the second stage of the Vuelta a España 2018 cycle race on 26 August.
